Healing beyond the physical

Every body holds a story.

Healing goes beyond the surface of the skin—our bodies are sentient vessels that hold thoughts, emotions, memories, and life experiences. This bodywork honors that wisdom by listening deeply to what your body uniquely needs in each moment. Using Ayurvedic oil massage as a foundation, the work integrates energy and intuitive modalities to support not just physical relaxation, but emotional release and holistic restoration.

Common Questions about Ayurvedic bodywork

These are some of the most common questions clients ask while considering the Ayurvedic Bodywork. If you’re wondering about something not listed here, you’re always welcome to reach out directly.

How do sessions start?
For first-time clients, sessions begin with a 30-minute intake to understand your body, mind, and current needs. Pulse and tongue assessment help determine the appropriate oils and techniques. Returning clients have ongoing dialogue about changes, discomfort, and areas of focus to support their overall wellness.
What should I wear?
Wear clothing you don’t mind getting a little oily, as Ayurvedic bodywork uses generous amounts of warm, medicated oils for deep nourishment.
What if I have allergies?
Please inform Viji of any allergies, sensitivities, or skin concerns beforehand so your session can be safely adjusted.
Can I eat before my session?
Allow at least one hour after eating before your appointment so your body can fully relax during treatment.
Can I shower afterward?
Showers are not available on-site, but you will receive post-session guidance. You may shower warm at home if needed, though allowing the oils to remain on the skin longer is often beneficial.
What type of massage modalities do you use?
Sessions are intuitive and client-guided, adapting each time to what your body needs. Treatments may include Ayurvedic oil massage, lymphatic support, abdominal work, marma therapy, energetic alignment, or nervous system grounding techniques.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time to settle in and ensure you receive the full hour without rushing.
Is bodywork safe during pregnancy or other life stages?
Yes. Each session is tailored to your current life stage and circumstances — including pregnancy, postpartum, hormonal transitions, or times of stress — with safety as the top priority.
Do you work on newborns and children?
Yes. Bodywork for newborns and children includes gentle techniques and hands-on teaching for parents, supporting digestion, comfort, emotional regulation, and breastfeeding-related needs.
How often should I schedule sessions?
Frequency depends on your individual needs — some clients benefit from weekly sessions, others come monthly, and some schedule as needed for maintenance or acute support.
Can bodywork help with chronic pain or injuries?
Yes. Ayurvedic bodywork can help relieve chronic tension, support injury recovery, improve circulation, and promote nervous system balance — often easing pain and restoring mobility.
What if I’m nervous or unsure about bodywork?
It’s normal to feel hesitant. Viji creates a safe, nurturing environment and will guide you through each step so you can feel comfortable, grounded, and supported.
What if I have a specific health condition?
Please share any medical conditions, diagnoses, or recent procedures beforehand so your session can be customized safely and appropriately.
